About Our Restaurant

So just where did the name Sweet Roux come from?

That would definitely be the question we get asked the most. Well, its an amalgamation and culmination of everything we strive to be. Think back to when you were a child; was there anything better than your favorite homemade sweets? Chances are someone in your family, Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, someone, liked to bake and create. Food made with care, not because someone had to, but because they wanted to and that’s pretty sweet. On the other side, we have the roux. Brings to mind fine-dining, French chefs, and cajun food. Pretty fancy, right? No, not really. For those of you that don’t know, a roux is just flour and fat (most often butter) cooked together to flavor and thicken sauces, stews, soups, etc. A roux is a fundamental piece of cooking from scratch; no packets of powder, no artificial thickeners, just getting back to the basics. And yet, the basics are elegant in their simplicity. And that’s what we are: food made with passion, full of creativity, and as always, started with the basics.

What We Bring to the Table

Our Offerings

Our motto is that food should be fun and exciting and dining out should be an experience! We have done our best to make sure that experience is something anyone can enjoy.

We’re a little traditional, a little modern, a little quirky, and a lot of fun.

Ambience

Clean, comfortable, and modern with a touch of humor would describe us perfectly. We like to keep things simple.

The Homemade Food

Your traditional American favorites are here: pasta, burgers, steaks, sandwiches, seafood, cakes, pies, ice cream, and so much more. That classic though, somewhere in there we have thrown a twist just to push the envelope a little bit.

Hand-Crafted Cocktails

You won’t find store-bought sour mix and sugary juice blends here. We make out cocktails with fresh ingredients and care. Our bartenders take the time to do it right and presentation is just as important here as it is with our food.
